years.<\/p><p>In particular, it has published several scientific papers on the study of immune response and its modulation in patients with diabetes, on acute and chronic complications of type 1 diabetes, on the role of stem cells in diabetes, on islet transplantation in murine preclinical models and in clinical studies in patients.<\/p><p>The interest has expanded to the immunometabolic sphere and type 2 diabetes with the use of an increasingly cutting-edge multiomic approach and a growing interest in the development of new therapeutics to bring to the patient&#8217;s bedside.<\/p><p>The projects developed by the group have a typically translational approach, in which basic research often meets clinical application, making the results obtained of extreme interest
